“Health is wealth” says an old proverb. But, how many of us are truly 100% healthy?
Health is not merely absence of diseases - not merely physical fitness but also mentally active & able to participate in social activities.
On a broad basis, the diet, we take daily decides our health - whether lean or obese or normal presence or absence of diseases. Among there, the weight of the person is very closely anoviated the diet.
What we take is called as balanced diet, an appropriate & approximate mixture of various nutrients and most indian foods meet all the requirements.
To some intent, the hereditary plays some role in deciding the weight of a person. Apart from this, there are far more factors, mainly the personal food habits.
The quality of the food is as important as the quantity. On an average, one should drink 8-10 glasses of fluids everyday for normal function of his body.
weight loss & gain are equally important in children & adults. In children, the more they are physically fit the more they are good in their adulthood. On this basis parents expect their children to eat more and don’t bother even if they are obese.
On the other hand, underweight also is a serious problem in developing countries as india, where more of the population lives in rural areas and slums of urbans. Here, malnutrition is a more concerned problem.
